Event in English: As an introductory event, we want to discuss the political effects of the “Higher Education Pact” and the resulting framework regulations. How can we fight for basic funding for education and the democratization of higher education?

This seminar introduces international students and staff to the organization and funding of the German higher education system, with a particular focus on the recent Hessian Higher Education Pact and its planned implementation at Goethe University. We will discuss the current budget plans and their possible effects on the department of social sciences. Participants are invited to share their experience and knowledge about similar projects at other universities and in other countries.
